Finished in the nick of time, this is my entry for Inspiration All Around Us challenge of "Falling in Love." (Dana has already posted the next challenge. This challenge ended on 8/31, which is today - so I am very close to late!) I chose to do an abstract of the challenge photograph which was a beautiful bouquet of roses.
I wanted to try and capture the vibrancy, the passion, the intensity of "falling in love." The colors and the patterns seemed to represent that to me. I have to say that no where in this can you decipher that roses were the subject matter! But I wasn't trying to capture the image, just the emotion. Something a little out of the box.

I think I have you beat, I am just starting mine (10:30 pm). Actually I have it drawn out - did it while waiting for my girlsnto finish dance class. Now the whole house is asleep. I love your interpretation. Very bold and exciting. Certainly a stage of love!
Thanks Margaret - I'm glad to see I'm not the only one burning the midnight linseed oil! I find I am getting later & later on these challenges. Maybe I'm trying to do too many? I think it's more I'm fretting too much over the details again, and that is eating up my time! Ah well, on to the next one! ;)
This is great as an abstract. I painted one and used it to provide nutrition for the trash can. It was better off there. I love what you did with this challenge.
An interesting piece, Nancie! I almost see a little stuffed bear too!
I like this one and you did capture emotion. the colors represent warmth, life and vibrancy. I love the abstraction. I like this piece.
