Did this recently for the March Virtual Paintout, of Stavanger Norway. I must have searched the whole map for images that I liked and wanted to paint. I have others I will do sometime, maybe not for the month's paintout. On this one, I loved the lines & how they all led to the homestead that was in the distance on the horizon. All the rows of stalks left behind from a previous planting also formed the same lines, while the partial stalks themselves did tiny vertical lines.
Acrylic on canvas, 9x12

This is a really nice composition. I love how the lines direct the viewer's eyes and you've created a beautiful sense of distance. I want to go there!
Thanks Nancy. I agree, Stavanger Norway is a very interesting place to visit. I love how the Virtual Paintout gives us the opportunity to expore new places. When I saw this farm land, I knew I had to paint it! Thanks again for your kind words!
Goodness; just a lovely farm scene here! Great job, Nancie!
I came over from the VPO site to tell you I liked this a lot!!! The farmland planted this way to the horizon gives it such an interesting look. Lovely colors and textures!
