Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction
Bicycle Ride was done in September - the original post can be seen here. I am adding this to the DPW challenge which is focused on wheels of some sort.
I know that the DPW challenges need to be painted when the challenge is posted - but as some of you may not be aware, I recently underwent some major surgery and do not have my stamina & strength back yet to sit/stand & paint. The desire is there but the mind & body is not - yet. I've only been home a couple of days now and am still struggling with simple things like navigating the stairs & putting on my socks. Simple things that I took for granted - until now. And as much as there is a part of me that wants to do nothing more than paint, I know I can not focus on that just yet. There will be time for that soon enough.
But I do not want to lose the momentum I gained from joining DPW, so I will be posting some of my older works in the gallery and on the blog. I do have a piece I started just before the surgery, and I'm anxious to get back to it & finish it. Once I tackle that & finish I will know that I am back to my old self (or at least very close).

Love this painting!'. Love the shadows! Check out linda apple's bikes and shadows! Glad the surgery is out of the way and that you'll slowly mend. Take care my sketchbook friendinediera
Oh dear...I was afraid your absence from posting meant something like this...I hope your healing is fast and smooth sailing, Nan. You'll be back to your painting soon, I suspect!
Hello Nan, I wish you a quick healing so you can paint whatever you want to paint! :)
I wish you a speedy recovery! When you back is involved, it affects your body from your toes to your head. The slightest movement of your toes can grab your back! Take good care of yourself and get well!
I really like this painting. Those shadows really make a great composition!
