The old mill in the wintertime sits by the stream that is now frozen. This was inspired by an old holiday card I had once received. I collect old holiday cards throughout the years, and use them for inspiration or ideas. I have also used them to make holiday baskets to give cookie presents in - a pattern & idea I had gotten from my mother. It's a great way to recycle old Christmas cards! The instructions can be found online, if you are at all interested, at: http://www.allfreecrafts.com/cards/basket.shtml

Absolutely lovely, Nan.
What a gorgeous spot and gorgeous painting! Definitely has a New England look to it too. Lovely!
Thanks Jean & Shelly. Old mills have a fascination for me. The smaller ones are usually near water and it's fun to capture them together. We have an old water-powered cider mill by us upstate. It's active in the fall and families love to watch the cider being pressed. Nothing tastes so fresh as that cider!
