Acrylic wash & ink on 8x10 canvas

Current challenge over at ADNW is this Eagle Owl named Dingle. Lee photographed this fellow during his recent trip to Ireland. On this, I chose to zoom in close to the face. I also chose to not actually paint the image. Instead I did a line drawing of the face and followed that up with a series of light washes. Only the eyes are actually painted - I wanted those to stand out the way they do with these birds. They are so majestic looking, aren't they?

Nancie, this is beautifully executed. The detail is amazing in the feathers and the eyes and beak are perfection.
Love the detail of this piece Nan. Well done!
